EX-LION Jared Polec should expect to be targeted by his former side during Saturday's clash at Adelaide Oval, Power skipper Travis Boak says. 
 
Polec walked out on the Lions last October after three injury-riddled seasons and joined Port Adelaide.
 
His return home has worked wonders for the talented left-footer who is in impressive form in 2014.

Boak said Angus Monfries, who moved to Port from Essendon before the 2013 season, would help Polec deal with the extra attention. 
 
"We'll speak about it, we've had Angus [Monfries] come over from Essendon as well so he's probably one who could talk to [Polec] about it," he said.
 
"We know it's there and they'll probably come at him and talk to him and target him a little bit and that's part of footy.
 
"We just need to support him as much as we can and we'll just go out there and play footy."
 
Meanwhile, midfielder Chad Wingard will have scans to assess his injured ankle on Monday in the hope of returning in time for Saturday's clash.
 
Wingard was forced from the ground in Sunday's narrow loss to North Melbourne and was walking with the aid of crutches when the team flew home on Sunday night.
 
Boak said the club remained optimistic its reigning best and fairest would be fit to face the Lions.
 
"We're just waiting to see [the scans] but we're hopeful that he'll come up," he said.
 
"Obviously he's a big loss to the side if he doesn't play, but the crutches were just precautionary at this stage."
 
Monfries will have scans on Tuesday to determine the severity of what looked a badly torn right hamstring.
 
Monfries was chasing a loose ball against the Kangaroos when he grabbed the hamstring and collapsed.
 
Boak said Aaron Young could replace Monfries after capping terrific recent form with 28 disposals and 13 clearances in the SANFL last Thursday night.
 
"The big standout from the weekend was probably 'Youngy', he had a fantastic game for the Magpies so he's probably one that will put his hand up for selection," he said.
 
"There's a few others with Cam O'Shea and 'Hitchy' (Cameron Hitchcock) and these sort of guys who have been in pretty good form.
 
"One of them will get a chance this weekend and hopefully they can stand up."
 
Boak was confident Jay Schulz would have no issue recovering from an injured foot to play the Lions.
 
"He was fine, he'll ice it up, it's got to be a broken leg or something to keep Schulzy out – he'll be right to go," he said.
