THE FOUR-DAY NAB AFL Draft Combine begins on Tuesday at Etihad Stadium, putting 101 prospective AFL players through their paces under the watchful eyes of club recruiters.
The potential draftees will be assessed on speed, agility, endurance and football skills, including a beep test, standing vertical jump, running vertical jump, 20m sprint, agility run, 3km time trial and 30m repeat sprints.
The prospects will also undergo medical and psychological testing.
“With the NAB All Stars match on Saturday being the final match around Australia for players to showcase their playing ability, it is now down to the analysis of the physical abilities and personalities at the Draft Combine,” AFL national talent manager Kevin Sheehan said.
“Over 150 recruiting staff will observe the players’ every move over the next four days.”
The NAB AFL Draft Combine will conclude on Friday, October 3.
AFL.com.au will have live coverage of the 2014 NAB AFL Draft Combine from 1pm on Tuesday as well as news updates from 9am Wednesday.
