The Australian Football League wishes to advise the following paperwork has been formally lodged with the league as at Friday October 10:
New:
7. Brisbane Lions exchange Joel Patfull to the GWS Giants for its End Round One Compensation Selection (currently number 21).
Previous:
6. Carlton exchange Jeff Garlett and its Round Five Selection (currently number 83) to Melbourne for its Round Four Selection (currently number 61) and its Round Five Selection (currently number 79).
5. GWS Giants exchange Jono O’Rourke and its Round Three Selection (currently number 43) to Hawthorn for its Round One Selection (currently number 19) and its Round Two Selection (currently number 40).
4. Gold Coast Suns have made an offer to Unrestricted Free Agent Nick Malceski (Sydney Swans). Nick Malceski is now able to join the club immediately. Based on the player's age and the contract offer, the AFL advised the Sydney Swans FC the club would be eligible for a round two compensation selection. The AFL also advised Sydney that if the club exchanged the compensation obtained from losing Nick Malceski, or the net compensation from losing and gaining a Free Agent, it was no longer eligible to gain a Restricted or Unrestricted Free Agent.
3. Hawthorn has made an offer to Unrestricted Free Agent James Frawley (Melbourne). James Frawley is now able to join the club immediately. Based on the player’s age and the contract offer, the AFL advised the Melbourne FC the club would be eligible for a round one compensation selection. The AFL also advised Melbourne that if the club exchanged the compensation obtained from losing James Frawley, or the net compensation from losing and gaining a Free Agent, it was no longer eligible to gain a Restricted or Unrestricted Free Agent.
2. North Melbourne has made an offer to Restricted Free Agent Shaun Higgins (Western Bulldogs). Western Bulldogs elected not to match the offer and Shaun Higgins is now able to join the club immediately. Based on the player’s age and the contract offer, the AFL advised the Western Bulldogs FC the club would be eligible for a round two compensation selection. The AFL also advised the Western Bulldogs that if the club exchanged the compensation obtained from losing Shaun Higgins, or the net compensation from losing and gaining a Free Agent, it was no longer eligible to gain a Restricted or Unrestricted Free Agent.
1. North Melbourne has made an offer to Unrestricted Free Agent Jarrad Waite (Carlton). Jarrad Waite is now able to join the club immediately. Based on the player’s age and the contract offer, the AFL advised the Carlton FC there would be no compensation for the loss of player Waite.
