THERE'S a small chance of rain, but players can expect mostly fine weather for Saturday afternoon's Grand Final between Hawthorn and the Sydney Swans.

The Bureau of Meteorology says there is a 20 per cent chance of rain falling in Melbourne as the city heads for a top of 24 degrees.

Despite being partly cloudy during the morning – and expected to remain that way for most of the day – the Bureau says there is only a slight chance of rain from the outer suburbs making its way to the MCG.

The two teams played on a dry deck in the 2012 decider and produced a thrilling contest, with the Swans winning by 10 points.

Hawks captain Luke Hodge will search for his third premiership while playing his 250th game, while the Swans are hoping to make it three flags in the past 10 seasons.
