AHOY there, me hearties and welcome back to Calvin’s Captains for round 15. 

Time certainly flies when you’re having fun and when my number one pick Gary Ablett scores 137 points, it makes me one happy pirate.

So climb aboard my trusty ship as we sail across the notoriously rough waters of Bass Strait and see what's in store for the Little Master this week.

Roy's Trade Talk: round 15

AYE AYE CAPTAIN
On Saturday afternoon, Gary Ablett [MID, $592,310] will be kicking the ice off the grass at Aurora Stadium as he takes on Hawthorn.

He has already played the Hawks this year in round four at Metricon Stadium and continued his dominance against them with 132 points, although his team was put to the sword.

Prior to that game, his numbers were equally impressive with an amazing run of 139, 175, 147 and 135 points. In fact, over the last 10 games against Hawthorn, Ablett's lowest score is just 109.

When you add this to the great man’s current form, it gets even better. Ablett has averaged 134 points in his last three games and scored 135 last time he braved the chilly Tassie weather at Aurora Stadium in 2011.

As always, we do need to be aware of any potential risks with what seems to be an easy captaincy choice this week. 

Ablett will be tagged this week by either Liam Shiels or Jordan Lewis, although Harley Bennell must also receive some attention after his dominate display last weekend.

So there you go, Ablett is once again a fantastic option as your AFL Fantasy captain for round 15. But, if you are also the lucky owner of Tom Rockliff, you may have to flip a coin, because you have a very difficult decision to make.

ROCKY AND ROLL
Fresh off the highest Fantasy score for 2014 (172 points), Tom Rockliff [MID, $617,646] will challenge Ablett as the most selected captain for this week. Rockliff was unbelievable last week against the Dockers and returns to his favourite ground, the Gabba, to take on the Kangaroos.

Rockliff scored 134 and 117 points against Fremantle last year and has been in amazing form, scoring over 140 points on four occasions in his last six games.

So here is the million dollar question, Ablett or Rockliff?

Ablett wins the battle this week in my professional piracy opinion. However, no one could criticise you for backing in the highest averaging player in the competition. Rockliff will be sensational, and just like Ablett, he ticks all the boxes this week.

DUSTIN’ UP THE SAINTS
Dustin Martin [FWD/MID, $543,047] is owned by over 71,500 coaches and is shaping up as a great roughie for round 15.

Firstly, he plays the Saints - a team who have bled Fantasy points this year, giving up 15 scores over 110 points to oppositions players in the last three weeks.

Although Martin's record against St Kilda isn’t great, things will turn around for him this week at Etihad Stadium where he scored 123  two weeks ago.

He has averaged 121 in his last three games and looks set to be one of the top scorers this week.

MAN’S BEST FRIEND

Over his short career of just 68 games, Tom Liberatore [MID, $571,507] has played Melbourne on three occasions. His best three Fantasy scores in that time have all occurred against the Demons. Yes, that’s right, all of them!

He racked up impressive scores of 148 and 144 against Melbourne in 2013 and backed it up this year in round eight with another 146. Simply amazing!

He has averaged 122 points at Etihad Stadium in the his last three games and after North Melbourne managed five scores over 100 last week against the Demons, Liberatore has his sights set on another colossal score against his favourite whipping boys.

JUST QUICKLY...
Here are few more of the popular players I have researched for you heading into round 15. If I have missed your favourite, let me know on Twitter (@CalvinDT) and I’ll do my best to cover them next week.

Dane Swan [MID, $524,762] v Carlton at the MCG:  Swan goes for his eleventh straight 100+ score against the Blues this week and is a sure bet. Mark him down for anything over 120 points this week.

Callan Ward [MID, $553,222] v Sydney Swans at the SCG:  With scores of 127 and 129 points in his last two games, Ward is really starting to produce some premium Fantasy numbers. He had 111 and 108 in his last two games against the Swans and should score well again in the Battle of the Bridge.

Steve Johnson [MID, $515,293] v Essendon at Etihad Stadium:  Finally, Steve Johnson broke his run of sub-100 point games last week by scrapping over the line with 103. Yes, it’s nothing to write home about, but he does average 112 in his last four games against the Bombers and should produce something a little better on Friday night.

Dion Prestia [MID, $570,197] v Hawthorn at Aurora Stadium:  Prestia has scored 88 and 117 points in his last two games against the Hawks and has been in smashing form in recent weeks averaging 125 in his last five games. He’s on fire and should dominate again in Launceston.

Scott Pendlebury [MID, $550,049] v Carlton at the MCG:  Pendlebury has averaged 110 in his last five games this year and is a certainty to be tagged by Andrew Carrazzo this week. The Giants managed four scores over 110 against the Blues last week and the potential tag from Carrazzo makes Pendles a risky pick this week.

Adam Treloar [MID, $551,610] v Sydney Swans at the SCG:  Over his career, Treloar has met the Swans on three occasions and each time has failed to crack the magical ton. He has averaged 115 in his last five games though and should rectify that poor stat this week.

Michael Barlow [MID, $549,092] v West Coast at Patersons Stadium:  Barlow averages 104 points against the Eagles over his career and although he had 80 points against them earlier this year, he’s an extremely reliable Western Derby performer.

Dayne Beams [MID, $545,918] v Carlton at the MCG:  Over the last two weeks, Dayne Beams hasn’t looked himself. He has scored just 88 and 76 points during this time and must get back to his Fantasy best before we give him the responsibility of carrying the big ‘C’ again.

Kieren Jack [MID, $535,290] v Greater Western Sydney at the SCG:  Jack has scored 117 and 123 points in his last two games at the SCG and averages 107 against the Giants since they joined the league. Unique pick!

Brendon Goddard [MID, $558,309] v Geelong at Etihad Stadium:  Goddard is very stiff to miss my top five after scoring 147 and 157 points in his last two games. Last week, the three top scoring Gold Coast players averaged 141 against the Cats and I’m expecting Goddard to be great again.
