Thompson is yet to miss a game this season, but entered the club's bye with hamstring tightness.

The break came at the perfect time for several of Adelaide's players, and midfielder Richard Douglas said Thompson was in particular had benefited from the rest.

Thompson trained on Wednesday, and Douglas tipped him to line up against the Magpies.

"He's progressing nicely; as we know he's probably one of the most durable players in the AFL, so if anyone can get up, he'll get himself up this week," Douglas said.

"I'm hopeful he'll play … I think at this stage it's only 'VB' (Nathan van Berlo) and Lewis Johnston who are on our injury list at the moment, which is fantastic for this time of the year."

Douglas will play his 150th game on Sunday, joining 100-gamer James Podsiadly in celebrating a milestone against Collingwood.

Douglas took out the Crows' 2010 Club Champion award and finished runner-up last year when he took out the Best Team Man award.

Douglas has led the Crows for score assists (118) and inside 50s (447) over the last five years, but while he's starred on the field, the 27-year-old said he'd prefer a low-key build-up to his 150th match.

"Over the years games tick by … I didn’t actually realise until last week that it was my 150th this week," Douglas said.

"When you start getting congratulated and get a few nice texts, you start to realise.

"Guys wish you well and you get a bit more attention than other weeks … we usually watch a bit of a highlights package of the guys who have a milestone games on the day before.

"I try and stay away from the lights and just focus on this week."
