Short versions of the videos, which were produced by AFL Media, are shown on the scoreboards, but the full stories can be accessed via the following links:
The videos feature former Geelong midfielder Simon Hogan talking about mental illness, ex-Gold Coast player Joel Wilkinson discussing racism, former Port Melbourne assistant coach Peta Searle talking about the role of women in the game and openly gay grassroots footballer Jason Ball speaking about the impacts of homophobia.
The case studies form part of the AFL Club Education Program, which ensures that all AFL players, coaches and staff are aware of their responsibilities when it comes to such issues.
As part of this multi-faceted education program, the players that have been in the AFL system for less than four years undertake an in-depth development session.
The player leadership group then meets separately to discuss specific issues with key internal AFL staff.
