Adelaide star to have scans on knee injured late in Sunday's game
ADELAIDE is confident Patrick Dangerfield has escaped any injury to his knee, but the star midfielder will undergo scans this week before making any further assessment.
Dangerfield went down grabbing at his knee in the dying moments of the Crows' 16-point win over Collingwood on Sunday.
He hobbled from the field with the help of trainers, and appeared fine in the rooms post-game, but will have tests in Adelaide this week.
"We'll have to wait, I don't want to call it too early. It didn't look good on the TV screen or the replays that I've seen, but you know 'Danger', he's shaking it off saying it's OK, it's just a knock," coach Brenton Sanderson said post-game.
"But any time you see a player clutching at his knee, your heart skips a beat. I think we've probably just got to wait until X-rays and scans and probably take a couple of days back in Adelaide to get a clear assessment. But fingers crossed [he's fine]."
Dangerfield had 26 disposals (14 contested), six clearances and five inside-50 entries as the most prolific Crow in his side's important win at the MCG.
Fellow midfielder Scott Thompson, a late withdrawal against Collingwood with a back-related hamstring injury, is likely to return to the Crows' line-up for next week's clash with West Coast at Adelaide Oval on Saturday.
