WESTERN Bulldogs veteran Matthew Boyd has been withdrawn from the squad to face Collingwood on Sunday after failing to overcome a hamstring injury.

The former skipper had been named at half-forward for his return match after two weeks on the sidelines.

The yet-to-debut Mitch Honeychurch has been added to the 25-player squad which will be trimmed to the final 22 on Friday.

Honeychurch was drafted to the kennel with the Bulldogs' third pick – No.60 overall – in last year's NAB AFL Draft.

He joins elevated rookie Mark Austin, Liam Jones and Jason Johannisen as one of four inclusions for Sunday's clash against the Pies at Etihad Stadium.
