The Cats' inspirational skipper keeps getting better with age. Last year, he averaged almost 25 disposals a game at 77 per cent efficiency.

He also added another string to his bow by becoming a consistent goalkicker, finishing with 30 for the season, including hauls of four against Port Adelaide and West Coast in rounds 20 and 21.

He was rewarded with selection in the centre in the All-Australian side and was named captain for the first time. Finished second in the Brownlow Medal, falling just one vote short of former teammate Gary Ablett.
