CARLTON has refused the Western Bulldogs' offer of including 2008 Brownlow medallist Adam Cooney in a trade for Bulldogs key forward Liam Jones.
The Bulldogs had proposed packaging Jones and Cooney together as part of a trade that would have seen them claim the Blues' second-round draft pick, No. 28.
The Blues remain committed to securing Jones in a trade, but it is more likely that any trade will revolve around their third-round pick, No. 46.
Carlton is also pursuing trades for GWS key-position player Kristian Jaksch and Jones' Bulldogs teammate Jason Tutt.
It is also believed Cooney remains a chance to leave the Whitten Oval with at least one other rival club interested in him.
