The Melbourne Football Club is the oldest sporting club in the world and the founding club of the AFL. With over 30,000 members, the Club, competes in a 22 round plus finals competition and is based at Australia’s sporting icon, the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Club has gone through a period of significant change and has embarked on an exciting new journey to create a sustainable and ultimately successful sporting organisation.
We are seeking a highly motivated experienced individual to lead and oversee the integration of the MFC sales functionality and the development / execution of the sales strategy.
Working as part of the MFC commercial team, the Manager – Sales will be responsible for the Club’s new Sponsorship sales, corporate product (match day and non match day events) sales, commercializing the Club’s digital assets, and liaising with key fundraising groups (coterie, inner sanctum, bequests etc). The Manager – Sales will lead a team of three account managers, and a bequest manager.
Specifically within this role responsibilities will include:
- Development and implementation of new MFC sales strategy
- Leadership of the MFC sales function, including the generation of a competitive and accountable sales culture
- Growing the MFC corporate network and reinforcing MFC’s corporate brand
- Integrating with the Relationships and Events department to ensure sales client’s objectives are met
- Staff and Budget management
If you are passionate about sports and AFL, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong commitment to service orientation and team work you may be an ideal candidate for this role.
Successful candidates will require a current Working With Children Check and Drivers Licence. There is also a requirement to assist on match days and other events as required by the Club, which include weekends.
