Essendon will meet with players' loved ones for update on ASADA investigation
NEW ESSENDON chairman Paul Little will next week hold his first meeting with the parents of Bombers players caught up in the supplements scandal.
The club has also invited partners and players to attend the gathering for an update on the status of the ASADA investigation.
Fairfax Media reports the meeting will take place next Tuesday night at Windy Hill.
Little took over the chairmanship on July 29 after David Evans stepped down from the role.
Evans and club officials have met with players' parents and partners at various stages to address developments in the saga, which has been the subject of Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) and AFL investigations since February 5.
The club first met with players' parents soon after Essendon announced they were to be investigated.
On Tuesday the AFL charged Essendon, coach James Hird and senior club officials Dr Bruce Reid, Danny Corcoran and Mark Thompson with conduct unbecoming or bringing the game into disrepute.
Those charges are scheduled to go before an AFL Commission hearing on August 26, but there is strong speculation about court injunctions.
The AFL hopes to make the specifics of the charges levelled against Essendon public in the next couple of days.
