North announced on NMFC.com.au on Thursday that Daw would not be named in its squad of 25 for its clash against Gold Coast at Townville on Saturday.
North said Daw had completed some light goal-kicking drills at training on Wednesday, but had been unable to complete the full session.

Fresh from his breakout performances against Melbourne and Richmond last Friday night, the exciting ruckman/forward is bidding to become the first Sudanese-born player to play an AFL premiership game this season.
Daw gave glimpses of his freakish athleticism last Friday night, taking a strong mark going back with the flight of the ball against the Demons and brushing defender Steven Morris aside to kick a running goal against Richmond.
North coach Brad Scott had said on Tuesday Daw was in doubt for Saturday's match.

"We're hopeful Majak will be up and right to play, but he did have some swelling Sunday and Saturday morning," Scott said.
"That was disappointing given that we managed his loads through the pre-season and thought he would get through.
"And we managed his load in the games so, at this stage at best, he's 50-50."
North is hopeful Daw could play in its round three NAB Cup clash against Geelong next Saturday.
