See the Match Review Panel's assessment of incidents arising from round 19
The AFL wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed the weekend's matches. The following charges were laid:
Charges laid:
Darren Glass, West Coast, has been charged with a level two striking Offence (125 demerit points, one-match sanction) for striking Dion Prestia, Gold Coast, during the second quarter of the round 19 match between West Coast and Gold Coast, played at Patersons Stadium on Saturday August 3, 2013.
In summary, he can accept a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record with an early plea.
Based on an investigation conducted by the Match Review Panel, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a level two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has one match suspended within the last two years, which does not impact on this offence. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record.
Josh Caddy, Geelong, has been charged with a first offence for making negligent contact with an Umpire ($1200 sanction) for making negligent contact with umpire Jeff Dalgleish during the second quarter of the Round 19 match between the Geelong and North Melbourne, played at Etihad Stadium on Friday August 2, 2013.
In summary, he can accept a $900 sanction with an early plea.
A first offence for making negligent contact with an umpire is a $1200 sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a $900 sanction.
Corey Enright, Geelong, has been charged with a first offence for misconduct ($1200 sanction) for misconduct in that he stood on the leg of Scott Thompson, North Melbourne during the fourth quarter of the Round 19 match between Geelong and North Melbourne, played at Etihad Stadium on Friday August 2, 2013.
In summary, he can accept a $900 sanction with an early plea.

Dion Prestia, Gold Coast, has been charged with a first offence for making reckless contact with an umpire ($2600 sanction) for pushing Andrew Gaff, West Coast, into the path of umpire Jason Armstrong during the second quarter of the Round 19 match between the Gold Coast Suns and West Coast, played at Patersons Stadium on Saturday August 3, 2013.
In summary, he can accept a $1950 sanction with an early plea.
A first offence for making reckless contact with an umpire is a $2600 sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a $900 sanction.
Mitch Golby, Brisbane Lions, has been charged with a level one striking offence (225 demerit points, two-match sanction) for striking Tom Curren, St Kilda, during the second quarter of the Round 19 match between the Brisbane Lions and St Kilda, played at the Gabba on Saturday August 3, 2013.
In summary, he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the St Kilda Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct (one points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of six activation points, resulting in a classification of a level one offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction. He has no existing good or bad record. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to 168.75 points and a one-match sanction.
Other incidents assessed:
The match day report of Gold Coast's Campbell Brown for engaging in rough conduct against West Coast's Blayne Wilson was assessed. Wilson is bending down to collect the ball while Brown is also coming in to the contest to pick up the ball. Brown makes body contact with his opponent and minor high contact. It was the view of the panel that Brown's actions were a legitimate attempt to win possession and no further action was required.
Contact between St Kilda's David Armitage and the Brisbane Lions' Tom Rockliff from the first quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. Rockliff receives a handball from teammate Joel Patfull and jumps into the air to take possession of the ball. While Rockliff is in the air, Armitage tackles his opponent. It was the view of the panel that Armitage made a legitimate attempt to tackle and no further action was required.
Contact between the Sydney Swans' Shane Mumford and the Western Bulldogs' Robert Murphy from the first quarter of Sunday's match was assessed. It was the view of the panel the force used was below that required to constitute a report.
Contact between Adelaide's Richard Douglas and Port Adelaide's Kane Cornes from the second quarter of Sunday's match was assessed. It was the view of the panel the force used was below that required to constitute a report.
