Kurt Tippett also won't be on the flight back to his old club, or be subjected to a hostile Crows crowd, instead remaining in Sydney to continue preparations for his expected return in round 13.
Walsh tore the hamstring off the bone in a horror injury during the second quarter of Saturday night's Essendon game and requires a season-ending operation.
It is a significant setback for the Irishman, who had played two of the past three weeks in Sam Reid's absence and shown some reasonable touch.
Walsh is contracted until the end of 2014.
Shaw has had a setback in his recovery from an abdominal tear, now experiencing trouble with his pelvis that will keep him sidelined for another four-to-five weeks.
Lewis Roberts-Thomson (knee) is also around a month away, while Reid (quad) is hopeful of a round 13 return and Marty Mattner (hip) needs to train well this week to have any chance of facing his old side on Saturday.
It is a lengthening injury list, which also includes Alex Johnson and Gary Rohan, but the third-placed premiers have taken it all in their stride.
"We've been missing those players now for a number of weeks and our back six have been able to hold together pretty well," coach John Longmire told reporters on Monday.
"We've introduced Dane Rampe and we've changed the team a little bit to make up for some missing personnel, but it's actually helped us at times.
"Players like (Nick) Malceski, (Jarrad) McVeigh, (Dane) Rampe has been holding his own and our keys have been playing pretty well.
"We've had a number of players out of our senior team and we've increased the depth of our squad."
The Crows and their passionate fan-base won't get the opportunity to let their feelings known to Tippett, who walked out on the club last year.
"He's fully into training mode now and he's obviously only a couple of weeks away, so he's preparing fully to play himself and that's what we're trying to do with him," Longmire said.
"Those blokes who haven't played need some specific match-type training, which we've been trying to get into him.
"It's hard when the rest of the team is in playing and training mode, but we'll continue to do that over the next couple of weeks.
"But it's not at the front of my mind this week. I've got the Adelaide Crows at the front of my mind."
Asked if he still expected a hot reception from an Adelaide crowd still smarting at the departure of one of its key assets, Longmire said: "I'm expecting a hot reception off the 22 that we play.
"They're a good quality team."
Longmire wasn't putting too much stock into Matthew Lloyd's comment that the Swans are again the team to beat this year, saying opinions constantly change.
He is very pleased, however, with the way the Swans are playing.
Longmire also said Tom Mitchell would retain his place in the side this week following his impressive debut against the Bombers.
"It would have to be a strong argument to leave him out," he said.
"I'm not sure who's going to put that up at match committee."
