The only real injury concern at West Lakes is David Mackay. The wingman suffered a corked hip and was subbed out of last weekend's clash against Fremantle, but the club expects him to face the Swans on Saturday. Brenton Sanderson has plenty of options in the SANFL though with Matthew Wright racking up 25 touches and eight clearances, Matthew Jaensch managing 20 disposals and three goals while Mitch Grigg was good for Norwood with 22 touches, 11 clearances and a goal. The Blues will welcome back star forward Eddie Betts from suspension and could have the option of bringing in as many as four players from injury against Essendon at the MCG on Friday night. They will sweat on the fitness of Chris Judd (hamstring), Andrew Carrazzo (calf) and Kane Lucas (hamstring), and might choose to include ruckman Robert Warnock (knee) to counter the Bombers' big men. The Bombers will welcome back Michael Hurley after an ankle injury forced him out of last week's loss to the Sydney Swans, and should also regain small forward Alwyn Davey after he played in the VFL last week. Jackson Merrett and Elliott Kavanagh will push for selection, as will Kyle Hardingham, who could come in if Courtenay Dempsey misses after being taken from the field on a stretcher on the weekend. The Suns' casualty ward is growing longer and there's not much relief in sight. Ruckman Charlie Dixon (ankle) is the most likely of the injured brigade to return against North Melbourne on Saturday night, but must complete a full week of training. Karmichael Hunt (hamstring) is a chance to return through the reserves, while Harley Bennell (hamstring) is taking longer to recover than expected and may not be back until after the round 13 bye. Brandon Matera's ankle injury, sustained in the loss to Geelong on Saturday, might give a chance for Liam Patrick to return to the seniors after a long hamstring lay-off of his own. - Michael Whiting

Nick Haynes could be in line for a recall to the senior team following a stand-out performance for the reserves on the weekend. Haynes and fellow defender Lachie Plowman were pivotal in the win over Sydney Hills Eagles. There are a number of players pushing for selection for this week's clash with Geelong at Skoda Stadium, including Anthony Miles, Sam Reid and Liam Sumner. Shaun Edwards, who played 10 senior games last season but is yet to play in 2013, was named among the best in the reserves. Kevin Sheedy will no doubt look to shake his side up again following last week's loss to Carlton. Setanta O'hAilpin was subbed out at halftime with a knee problem, while Andrew Phillips (hamstring) is still a few weeks away from being able to help Jonathan Giles in the ruck. - James Dampney

James Frawley's hamstring injury is a big blow for the Demons in the lead up to their Queen's Birthday clash against Collingwood. Tom McDonald, a logical replacement for Frawley, is a good chance to return from his shoulder injury. Veteran forward Shannon Byrnes will also be tested to see if he can return from the wrist injury that has sidelined him since round eight. The Kangaroos played with just two talls in its forward line for the first time in a year against St Kilda last Sunday, but Majak Daw has put pressure on the Roos' selectors to revert to a three-pronged attack. Dropped to the VFL last week, Daw was a strong performer for Werribee in its win over North Ballarat last Sunday, racking up 21 possessions in the ruck and taking several strong marks. Daw's Werribee teammate Levi Greenwood bolstered his case for a senior recall as did Liam Anthony who was outstanding for the Roosters in the first half with 24 possessions before Greenwood reduced his influence. Tall defender Cameron Delaney impressed for North Ballarat in his first full game since returning from injury, while elder brother Luke continued his strong form at full-back. Roos coach Brad Scott said last Sunday key forward Robbie Tarrant is a chance to return from injury this week, but will almost certainly do so in the VFL. - Nick Bowen

Adam Schneider faces a fitness test to see if he's right to return from a hamstring strain while Nathan Wright will be monitored after copping a knock to his back on Sunday. With a number of Saints playing poorly against North Melbourne, there could be changes for Sunday's clash with West Coast although their VFL affiliate Sandringham was smashed by 65 points by the Casey Scorpions on the weekend. Injuries are becoming a real issue for the Swans, although results indicate otherwise. Lewis Roberts-Thomson, Rhyce Shaw, Sam Reid, Alex Johnson, and Tommy Walsh are all on the sidelines, with the latter tearing his hamstring off the bone against Essendon, finishing his season. And let's not forget Marty Mattner who has been forced into sudden retirement with a hip injury. Tom Mitchell slotted in seamlessly for his debut on Saturday and will retain his place this week, while Jesse White will also make the flight as he inches closer to his second appearance of 2013. Jed Lamb and Tony Armstrong are also in the mix. Saturday's game also marks the final week of Kurt Tippett's suspension. - James Dampney

After the Eagles managed just eight goals against Richmond, Ashton Hams will come into calculations for the St Kilda clash. The small forward had 31 touches and kicked three goals for South Fremantle in the WAFL on Sunday. Jamie Cripps has also put his hand up with three goals and 21 disposals for East Perth. Bradd Dalziell should be available for selection after missing the Richmond loss following his concussion against GWS. Beau Waters is an unknown proposition with his quad injury. He has only played four matches this year, and just one in the last five, against North Melbourne in round eight.
