Riewoldt was on holiday in his wife Catherine's home state, and made the most of the trip, watching on as the home team, the Austin Crows, beat the Calgary Kangaroos in a thrilling decider, 4.2 (26) to 4.1 (25).
The two-day event is the biggest Australian football carnival in the world with more than 1200 participants and 39 teams playing in four men’s divisions and one women's division.
Riewoldt, who tossed the coin before the division one Grand Final and presented the trophies, was joined by AFL international development manager Tony Woods and US AFL international rookie players Eric Wallace (North Melbourne), Patrick Mitchell (Sydney Swans) and Jason Holmes (St Kilda).
It was the first time the St Kilda skipper had met Holmes, who trained with the Chicago Swans earlier this year in his bid to be drafted by an AFL club.
“It was great to get the chance to meet Jason," Riewoldt told AFL.com.au.
"From all reports he did really well at the draft combine a couple of weeks ago and he's got a good solid athletic build so there might be some potential there.”
Australian basketballer Patty Mills was also in the crowd showing his support.
“Footy is starting to get a real following over here in America and the USAFL National Tournament was a big hit," Riewoldt said.
"It was really enjoyable to get along to the tournament on Sunday and take in bit of footy."
Other winners on the day were:
Division two: Columbus Jackaroos
Division three: Houston Lonestars
Division four: Ohio Valley/Milwaukee
Women's: Denver Bulldogs
