Evans thanked Essendon players, their families and the Bomber faithful for supporting the club in the wake of the supplement scandal in a recorded video address on essendonfc.com.au.
"There's going to be a lot of speculation in the media about our players, our club and possible sanctions," Evans said.
"Please remember that not one of our players has tested positive for any banned substance or performance enhancing drug."
Evans and Essendon CEO Ian Robson reportedly met ASADA officials in Canberra to discuss the investigation on Friday.
"I understand there is a lot of confusion and shock felt by our members at the moment and I can tell you everyone at the club shares this with you," Evans said.
"It has been an extremely difficult time for the players and their families and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their ongoing support of our decision to ask the AFL and ASADA to launch an investigation."
Evans said the club did know how long the investigation would take.
It has also emerged Essendon coach James Hird held individual meetings with players during the week to discuss the use of supplem
ents throughout the club's 2012 campaign.
The Herald Sun said Hird and football manager Danny Corcoran are understood to have summoned players to the club to ask them what they knew about the supplements they took and whether they had anything to confess.
All players, the report said, answered no.
