Hamish Hartlett [DEF/MID, $421,400] is undoubtedly the next big thing at Port Adelaide.
He showed that against Melbourne in round one with a best-on-ground performance that earned him 105 AFL Fantasy points.
However the talented on-baller then followed up with a paltry score of 35 against Greater Western Sydney, as his gametime was managed due to a back concern.
Port says it is confident Hartlett will lineup in the Showdown against the Crows and now is not the time to lose the faith.
Trade
In the pre-season, Patrick Karnezis [FWD, $238,400] was talked about as one of those young players who was going to set the fantasy world alight.
After a lean year in 2012, this season was supposed to be the making of him as a player. But in his second game for the season against the Crows, he started as the substitute and registered just nine points.
While Karnezis still might have the odd brilliant game, a proven goal-kicker like West Coast's Josh Kennedy [FWD, $272,800] is just too cheap to pass up.
Kennedy has scores of 99 and 97 from his first two games, meaning he's in for a significant price hike. Now's the time to pounce.
Invest
Anyone who knows Sam Dwyer's [MID/FWD, $89,800] football story would have sat and smiled at the MCG on Sunday.
The long-time VFL star made an instant impact on the big stage against the Blues, scoring 90 fantasy points from his 23 disposals.
He's due for a steep price jump after the next round, so the proven ball winner should be a necessity in your fantasy side.
New kid on the block
Something tells us that Lachie Whitfield [MID, $183,700] is going to a regular fixture in the AFL fantasy ranks over the years.
He topped 100 points in just his second AFL game, registering 102 against Port Adelaide.
The 2012 No. 1 pick is all class, and while he's a little pricier than his contemporaries, he's worth every cent.
That hurts
Darren Jolly [RUC, $427,600] is in some doubt to line up against the Hawks on Sunday, meaning things are not all that jolly for fantasy coaches.
Despite being cleared of broken ribs, Jolly's injury is still significant enough for the Pies to consider replacements Ben Hudson and Jarrod Witts.
Even if he does play, he's likely to be severely limited, meaning fantasy points could be few and far between.
The last word
As the head-to-head match ups approach, it's important to ensure your team is settled.
Price increases occur after round three, so there a couple of bargain buys still up for grabs.
