On Monday, Demons football manager Josh Mahoney made it quite clear that the club's first-round pick - pick two - was on the trade table, but at the right price.

"David Myers is someone we've shown some interest in," Mahoney said as he left the Docklands.

"All along we've said we want to add some depth to our midfield and he'd be one of the players that we're looking at at this stage."

However, Essendon recruiting manager Adrian Dodoro said Myers would be with the Bombers in 2014.

"He's an Essendon player. He is contracted and won't be going anywhere," Dodoro said.

Myers has played 65 games in six seasons with Essendon since being the No.6 pick in the 2007 AFL Draft. The big-bodied Myers reached his 50th game this season after an injury-interrupted career.

Key forward Stewart Crameri was also on the agenda for the Bombers as he has declared his desire to move to the Western Bulldogs.

Dodoro said they were no closer to reaching a deal with the Bulldogs but a couple of scenarios had been put on the table.

"We'll let it play out at the moment," Dodoro said.

The Bombers are interested in Collingwood's Heath Shaw but are restricted in what they can offer for the running defender after losing their first and second round picks as part of the penalties handed out for its role in the supplements saga.

Mahoney said Melbourne was not pursuing Shaw but a range of opposition clubs had made inquiries about its first-round draft selection.

"That's what today was about in gauging interest in pick two and a combination of players and draft picks," Mahoney said

"So we'll sit back and have a look at all the offers and move on from here.

"We'vesaid all along that pick two is a prized pick and it would have to be avery good player or a combination of players for us to give up picktwo.

"There's certainly a few that are worth considering."

One name that came up in discussions was Greater Western Sydney youngster Dylan Shiel.

Mahoneysaid the prospect of adding Shiel to the club's midfield was enticing, although the young Giant remains contracted and the club maintains he's arequired player.

The Demons also have interest in Shiel'steammate, Taylor Adams. However, Adams has told the club it is not inhis preferred list of destinations.

"Taylor at this stage has his preference of clubs that he wants to get to," Mahoney said.

"At the moment we're not [in it] and we haven't been involved in any of those discussions."

Mahoneyalso quashed reports the Demons were chasing West Coast midfieldersAndrew Gaff and Luke Shuey or Gold Coast youngster David Swallow.
