A DEAL that moves Taylor Adams to Collingwood and Heath Shaw to Greater Western Sydney is imminent, says Magpies national recruiting manager Derek Hine.
Both players have nominated the respective clubs as their preferred destinations, and Hine believes they are close to locking a trade away.
Hine told AFL.com.au's Gillette Trade Radio Collingwood was in constant discussions with Giants list manager Stephen Silvagni and football manager Graeme Allan.
"It's just a matter of the two parties getting together and working out what's the best way to facilitate the trade," Hine said.
"There's so many balls in the air from various parties and from our side of things we'll continue to work closely with (Silvagni) and (Allan) and I'm sure we'll be able to facilitate something within the not-too-distant future."
Hine said despite the players being at different stages of their careers, the Magpies and Giants were on the same page regarding their value.
"One player is a proven AFL player, a premiership player and at the peak of his power, and the other boy is a first-round draft choice, 20-year-old and potentially has a lot of scope," he said.
"So they're two ends of the spectrum and I think both parties have really strong opinions on the relevant players. They're both consistent and they're both on the right track as well.
"I'm really confident we'll get something sorted out."
Hine said Monday's exchange with West Coast that landed the Pies the number six pick in the NAB AFL Draft was good for both parties.
He said the Eagles maintained a place in the first round (pick 11), and also acquired a second round pick they would almost certainly use to land Brisbane Lion Elliot Yeo.
Hine said dropping five places in the first round might not be as bad as some had made out for West Coast.
"I'm sure West Coast would have two to three players bracketed who would come through to pick, six and I'm making an assumption they'd be really confident that one of those three would be there at what is essentially pick 10 (with North Melbourne committed to father-son selection Luke McDonald at number eight)."
