Reece Conca's season appears over after serious hamstring tear
RICHMOND has been dealt an early injury blow with Reece Conca subbed out with a hamstring injury in the first quarter.
Conca went down on the wing at the 12-minute mark of the opening term clutching below his left buttock.
He had to be helped from the field with the injury appearing to occur around the top of his hamstring.
He was running at full pace when the injury occurred.
Conca is all but certain to miss the remainder of the season, with Doc Larkins saying it was a high-grade hamstring tear.
He is watching the game from the bench and is using crutches to get around.
Shane Tuck has been subbed into the game.
The Blues have their own injury concerns with Mitch Robinson treated for a right hamstring issue and Matthew Kreuzer a right foot problem in the first quarter.
Both were able to return to the field in the second after looking as though their afternoons were over after one quarter of football.
Robinson tweaked his hamstring 10 minutes after Conca did, in almost the same spot in front of the MCC members while chasing Richmond's Dustin Martin.
He was able to hobble off and the Blues tested him to see if it was a spasm or tear.
He reappeared shortly before the end of the break before starting the quarter on the bench.
Kreuzer went down into the rooms at the 28-minute mark and wasn't with his team in the quarter-time huddle.
However, he came back on and started forward, where he has been limping badly and has been largely been confined to.
The club's doctors have been out to him repeatedly and he's been spending time on the bench.
