Hodge was charged by the Match Review Panel on Monday over a bump on opponent Lachie Henderson during the Hawks' win over Carlton last weekend.
The incident was deemed negligent, low impact and high contact, enough for 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction.
However, had the 29-year-old pleaded guilty, he could have accepted a reprimand and 93.75 demerit points, and been free to face the Eagles this week.
If found not guilty at the tribunal, Hodge will have the demerit points cleared from his record.
If he is found guilty and has to spend a week on the sidelines, he will only have 25 demerit points against his name for any future MRP charges.
The case will be heard at 5pm AEST on Tuesday.
Watch MRP chairman Mark Fraser explain the findings from round 12.
