Premiership ruckman's manager says Jolly could be a Saint next week
DARREN Jolly's manager is confident the veteran ruckman will find a new home, perhaps as early as next week.
The premiership ruckman at the Sydney Swans and Collingwood, who started his career at Melbourne, is looking for his fourth club after being delisted by the Magpies.
The 31-year-old only managed nine games this season for a career total of 237.
Jolly's manager Paul Connors said with the trade period over, serious discussions can start about where the ruckman might play.
St Kilda haa expressed interest in adding Jolly's experience to its young group of ruckmen.
"We have dialogue going, so how it turns out, we'll wait and see," Connors said on Friday.
"There's a couple (of clubs), but we'll wait and see what pans out after today.
"Everyone concentrates on today and then we'll work out what happens next week.
"He's been at the gym, he feels 24 again and, if a club takes a punt on Darren, they're going to be pleasantly surprised.
"He will play a lot of senior football next year."
Jolly has struggled with a knee problem, but Saints list manager Ameet Bains said the veteran had been through a medical examination and the club had no real concerns.
"That's a discussion we still need to have but that's a possibility," Bains said of the chances of Jolly joining the club.
"We've got three very young ruckmen so we need to make a decision about what other experience we can put around them."
