Hinkley says he'll keep faith with the Port players who upset Collingwood last weekend.
"We will go in unchanged and look forward to the opportunity to give those boys a chance to play again," he told reporters at Adelaide Airport on Thursday.
Rain is forecast in Melbourne for the sudden-death semi-final, but Hinkley said any downpour was unlikely to force a change.
"The weather forecast is predicting quite a bit of rain ... but I don't think anything will change our minds.
"It (rain) is just something that we have to be mindful of."
The only alteration to Port's squad, to be officially released later on Thursday, is in the emergencies with utility Paul Stewart to replace Cameron Hitchcock.
Stewart hasn't played an AFL game since breaking his left arm in round 19 but has returned to action in SANFL ranks.
"He is one of our more senior players but his broken wrist has held him out," Hinkley said of the 77-gamer.
"But his form last week was really good.
"He could easily come in and play if we did lose someone overnight with an illness or something like that; he would be a logical replacement."
The Cats' talentedside means Hinkley is battling to decide which star will be kept on theshortest leash.
Former skipperDom Cassisi is expected to be the Power's main negating weapon after keepingCollingwood super star Scott Pendlebury to 24 disposals last weekend – histhird fewest tally for the year.
But Kane Corneshas also proven invaluable as a negating midfielder this year, as has AndrewMoore.
"There's asmorgasbord – we put [Cassisi] on (Steven) Motlop at some stage last time, wecould put him on (Joel) Selwood who kicked four goals, (Steve) Johnson's got usboth times we've played them this year," Hinkley said.
"(Andrew)Mackie's a great player down back, there's an enormous amount of players intheir side that we could apply Dom to, or Kane to, or Andrew Moore to.
"It's just amatter of making sure what we think's the right matchup – clearly I'm not goingto say exactly what that is."
Port will name anunchanged line up to the one that defeated the Magpies last weekend, but PaulStewart has replaced Cameron Hitchcock as one of the emergencies.
While rain ispredicted for Friday evening, Hinkley said he didn't think there would be alate change.
When these teamsmet in round nine Geelong sprinted out to a 39-point lead at quarter-time andin round 20 it was a similar story with the Cats leading by 31 points at thefirst break.
Hinkley said Portmust fire early but insisted it mustn't fear Geelong's fast starts.
"It's reallyimportant for us that we perform really well at the start of the game and wemake it a contest," he said.
"But wecan't go away from what we do and what we do is play some really defensivefootball and then attack hard off it."
Hinkley joinedAdelaide counterpart Brenton Sanderson in declaring his interest in BrisbaneLions midfielder Jared Polec.
The SouthAustralian has requested a trade home and the Power coach said he'd jump at theopportunity to welcome a player "of his quality".
"PortAdelaide Football Club would be incredibly interested in him as a player and ifwe could possibly convince him to come and play at our football club next yearwe'd look forward to doing that," he said.
