Brad Scott and the North Melbourne match committee have opted for an experienced unit for the clash with St Kilda on Sunday evening.

Scott spoke to the media about his desire to go in with an unchanged line-up against the Saints before Thursday’s main training session, but things changed just over two hours later.

Key defender Luke Delaney pulled up with a sore shoulder after the hit-out and was withdrawn from the squad.

Into the side comes reliable defender Daniel Pratt who has missed the last few games with a thumb injury, and fellow backman Scott McMahon who stayed in Melbourne last week to be with his pregnant wife Desiree.

Team balance and the need for more mature heads and bodies means Kieran Harper, Shaun Atley and Cam Richardson also come out of the side while Ben McKinley and Lachlan Hansen come in.

Atley, Richardson and Harper remain on the emergency list.
