“We are looking forward to playing in the pre-season Grand Final and we just hope to see thousands of Carlton supporters at the game. The last month or so has really seen a change around the Club and there is an excitement and sense of optimism that we haven’t seen for a while,” Whitnall said.
“It would be great for Carlton supporters to get together on Saturday night at the NAB Cup Grand Final to show the true Carlton spirit and cover The Dome in a sea of blue.”
The Carlton Football Club has enjoyed a change of fortunes in the past month with three NAB Cup victories earning the team a Grand Final appearance on Saturday night. This follows a resurgence in the off field fortunes of the Club after the election of Richard Pratt as President of the Club in early February.
2007 Membership is close to 25,000, over 5,000 more than for the same time last year and corporate support continues to increase with new sponsors becoming involved with the Club.
“Obviously while we want to see a big Carlton crowd at the game on Saturday night, we also want our supporters to join as members. Our Membership team will be outside the ground on Saturday night and we hope it is a successful night both on and off the ground for the Carlton Football Club,” Whitnall said.
Carlton supporters will be able to purchase their 2007 Membership at special Membership marquees located on the footbridge as well as outside Gates 5 and 7 and also in the Kernahan Room (Victory Room) on level one inside the ground.The Kernahan Room will be operating as the Carlton Captains Club the new Carlton Social Club for the NAB Grand Final with all supporters welcome to attend preview what the Captains Club will be like in 2007. Following the game all Carlton players will be in attendance in the Captains Club.
The Carlton Shop merchandise outlet will be located inside Gate 7 at the northern end of the ground and will also be available at the Membership marquee on the footbridge. This will give Carlton supporters the chance to ensure they are part of the seas of blue around the stadium.
