FROM kicking the match-winning Showdown goal one week to barely being sighted the next, Steven Motlop's form has been all over the place.
But the most important statistic for the Port Adelaide forward/midfielder is the 'W' that sits alongside the Power in the record books for both games.
The 27-year-old former Cat has had a solid first nine games, averaging 16.6 disposals and kicking seven goals at his new club.
His most influential moment came when he kicked a 40m goal with 21 seconds on the clock in the Power's thrilling round eight win against Adelaide.
However, he was quiet the following week in the Power's 40-point victory over Gold Coast in Shanghai, finishing with five disposals and two tackles in 72 per cent game time.
It was his fewest disposals in a game since round 23, 2013, when he had four touches against Brisbane.
"(My form is) a little bit fluctuating," Motlop said.
"Against different oppositions, I'll play in different spots, it sort of changes week to week.
"Mainly forward and on the wing, and hopefully through the midfield.
"We're in a good position at 6-3 (win-loss record).
"I'm just happy to play wherever Kenny (coach Ken Hinkley) wants me to play, and if I can help us win, I'll do that."
The Power face Hawthorn in Launceston on Saturday, a foe Motlop knows very well from his time at the Cats.
"Their form the last three or four weeks, they've lost a couple, but they've been right there until three-quarter time against the best opposition," he said.
"We know how good they are as a footy club, and I especially know how good they are after playing against them for a long time.
"They're going to be a tough opposition, but I think we're ready for them."
The Power is set to be boosted by the news that vice-captain Ollie Wines is reportedly committed to re-signing with the club.
"He's a real leader," Motlop said.
"Off the field, he does everything right and he's a great guy and the boys love being around him.
"And on field, it speaks for itself, he's a workhorse.
"He's the kind of guy you want around the footy club and definitely (one) we want to keep."
