PORT Adelaide hopes the return of big-bodied midfielder Ollie Wines will provide immediate dividends against Richmond on Sunday.

Boak blasted the Power's work ethic on Monday afternoon after they were soundly beaten by the Brisbane Lions on Sunday.

Wines dislocated his wrist in round three and has spent the past four weeks on the sidelines.

His skipper said his presence had been badly missed in the club's midfield.

The 20-year-old was elevated into the club's leadership group this year and is expected to return to the senior line-up against the Tigers at Adelaide Oval.

"Ollie's trained really well and I think he was 50-50 for [round seven] so I think he's looking a lot closer for this week," Boak said.

"He'll make a big difference … we've missed him a fair bit inside.

"His body and contested ball in there is certainly what he brings to this group and also his leadership as well and how hard he does work.

"He's one who can drive others."
