Keep
Grant Birchall's [DEF, $411,500] absence last week with back tightness was a serious disappointment.

But he should be back this week, and after a rough patch over the past couple of games, should be ready to hit his straps again.

His early season form was phenomenal and at the price he looks like a bargain pick-up.

Trade
Lions ruckman Matthew Leuenberger [RUC, $358,000] was one of the most popular choices in fantasy competitions at the start of the season.

Leuenberger is now set to miss up to six weeks with a thumb injury, meaning more than 83,000 coaches are going to be looking for a new ruckman.

Now is the perfect time to upgrade at the ruck position and bring West Coast sensation Nic Naitanui [RUC, $426,900] into your team.

Invest
Dan Hannebery [MID, $458,900] is quickly becoming an out and out star of the competition. And his fantasy scores are beginning to follow suit.

Hannebery has scored 116 and 114 points from his past two outings, taking his scores above 100 this year to six.

The Swans midfielder's price is still relatively attainable and his consistency has been outstanding this season.

New kid on the block
West Coast youngster Mark Hutchings [MID, $102,700] scored 97 fantasy points, albeit against Greater Western Sydney.

If he is picked for Monday night's game against Richmond, Hutchings' price is set to rise by more than $86,500 after the round.

He is a ready-made midfielder who wins high possessions and rests at a bargain price.

May be a solid downgrade option and a cash cow later in the season.

That hurts
Quad injuries are not good news. Just look to Dayne Beams, who has not played at all this year.

So the "two-week" quad injury that has slowed the Lions' Tom Rockliff [FWD/MID, $473,000] is a big concern.

Players such as Jimmy Bartel [FWD/MID, $482,200] and David Mundy [MID, $458,800] have been in sparkling form and could be instant swaps if you so decide.

If you keep Rockliff, you need to be prepared for some pain and ready to trade immediately if he's not named for the Lions in the next fortnight.

Surprise packet
It was as if Sam Kerridge [MID, $312,000] had a contagious bug against North Melbourne – the Roos just refused to man him up.

Kerridge managed a career-high 121 fantasy points, aided by a six-goal haul and a nomination for the NAB AFL Rising Star award to boot.

He may not find the same amount of space this week, but his break even score is just 18 and he's definitely one on the rise.
