Over 900 Thommo’s Team 13 members spent the first day of the school holidays at Olympic Park running through clinics conducted by the Magpie players.
Under the watchful eyes of their sporting heroes, the kids were put through several drills on the adjacent park to the Lexus Centre.
Dale Thomas was the clear favourite, holding court inside the question and answer tent with skipper Nick Maxwell, Paul Medhurst, Scott Pendlebury and Dayne Beams.
The most popular question asked by the young members was, “What’s on your arm Dayne?”.
Maxwell took charge of the session, similar to the command he holds in defence the skipper filtered the questions between his teammates.
Outside things were happening at a quicker pace with Shannon Cox and Simon Prestigiacomo teaching the kids how to run with the ball and Josh Fraser giving tips on how to kick and jump.
Fresh off his recent goal kicking haul, Harry O’Brien led the goal kicking drill under the watchful eye of Jack Anthony.
Ronald McDonald made a special appearance and tried to follow Tarkyn Lockyer’s instructions in a warm-up drill.
The day ended with the kids getting their jumpers and caps signed by the players.
There are over 4,000 Thommo’s Team 13 members signed up this season, a record high in the membership category. To learn more about membership offers for this season or 2010 click HERE.
