Fans are flying the flag
The team is looking forward to the roar of a home crowd on Saturday night
West Coast star forward Josh Kennedy took a break from finals preparation to pay tribute to the club’s fans for sending in their messages of support.
The club has been overwhelmed by positive messages since asking fans to ‘fly the flag’ and help the club soar through September.
“It’s been fantastic to receive all the inspirational messages from fans,” Josh said. “The boys love reading them and it definitely helps us get pumped up for the weekend.
“Our fans are always there cheering us every week and their support is what we need in finals.”
The team is looking forward to the roar of a home crowd on Saturday night, with Kennedy eager to see the crowd fired up.
“I’m hoping fans will keep the Mexican wave going from start to finish,” Josh laughed.
“Our last home game against Adelaide was amazing. All the boys commented on how great it was to hear the fans cheer so loud and we hope they’ll all be screaming for us on Saturday.”
While Eagles fans have been sending their support from around the world, Kennedy has particularly enjoyed receiving messages his hometown, Northampton.
“It’s awesome to see people from ‘Moonie Mia’ sending messages in. It’s a fantastic place with great people,” Josh said.
“I will never forget where I come from and I love getting support from my hometown.”
