A few Geelong players have appeared tired lately after sitting up watching the Tour de France on TV.

They were watching local star Cadel Evans in his quest to become the first Australian to capture the world’s premier cycling event.

Evans prevailed in a thrilling come from behind win, peddling to the dais in Paris on Sunday night.

Evans rehabbed his knee injury at the club a couple of years ago and is a regular at Skilled Stadium during the off season. His signed riding jersey hangs in the Cats player’s lounge at Skilled Stadium.

The Cats have taken to twitter in their praise of Evans…here is a sample: James Kelly:
Australia has to give @CadelOfficial some sort of prize for winning the #TDF....I reckon no taxes again EVER or just give him Tassie.
