During the month of October The Box Hill Hawks players, coaches, board and staff are proud to take part in the Ocsober Campaign.
Life Education Victoria through the Oscober Campaign encourages people to give up alcohol for the month of October. Beginning in 2008, the initiative aims to raise money for Life Education’s drug and health programs as well as to promote those involved to enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

The 2010 Box Hill Hawks Ocsober campaign was officially launched at City Oval on Saturday 21 August, with help from special guests including “Healthy Harold” tossing the coin pre match.
Senior Coach Brendan Bolton who also in attendance explained how the program encourages balancing elite performance with strong lessons on alcohol management.
“The Ocsober campaign fits in well with our benchmarks of Resilience, Honesty, Passion and Respect and the benefits for the group are enjoyed both on and off the field.”
Box Hill Hawks captain Steve Kenna announced that the Club’s aim for this year is to raise an enormous $20,000 to contribute to the $800,000 goal set by Ocsober for 2010.
“The players really enjoy the Ocsober Campaign as it provides a strong bond amongst the group and gives us a great chance to raise money for an important cause in society.” Kenna said.
Ocsober is an important opportunity to highlight the growing danger of binge drinking and alcohol abuse, particularly among young Australians.
