There is a hot debate going on in the Kirk household this week about who is better.

For Memphys and Tallulah it’s an extremely difficult decision as to who is cuter: Zac Efron or Justin Beiber. Indhi is finding it hard to decide whether Spiderman has what it takes to beat the heeby-jeeby’s out of Batman, and Sadie is just obsessed with Dora The Explorer consulting with her backpack and stopping a fox named Swiper.

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I wish life were a musical. So maybe you can imagine my dilemma after seeing CATS on Tuesday night - I’m thinking it needs to go in my top three of all-time favourite musicals.

However I don’t know how to toss Phantom of the Opera, Spring Awakening or The Lion King to make room for it. And then there is the whole thing about not even seeing Mary Poppins yet.

I know, I am sorry.…On a world scale these decisions mean less than the dirt in Indhi’s footy boot tread. It’s not exactly brain surgery or the seriousness that lies beneath naming the right spice on MasterChef, but it is dinner table conversation at the Kirk’s.

Over the football season thus far, it has also come to pass that there is a new Favourite Swans Player in the Kirk House and with my technological inability to add sound effects to my blog may I say, drum roll please, dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah.

#41 - SHANE MUMFORD is our new favourite player! **

Not only does the talented Mr Mumford do an amazing job in the ruck, he tackles, he’s down on the ground with his head over the footy, he’s running, he’s carrying, he’s delivering, he’s spirited and enthusiastic, he’s babysitting, he’s playing the best-out-of-five games of Toy Story Trouble with Indhi on a Tuesday night, he’s reading‘I Went Walking’with Indhi’s kindergarten class and then backing that up with Gordon’s Got A Snookie! When Indhi came home he couldn’t stop talking about Shane!

** NB. The selection criteria for favourite player excludes Brett Kirk and Craig Bolton as they are family and would be devastated to think that they weren’t our favourites.
