MELBOURNE has finalised its team for Sunday’s clash against Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium, including Cale Morton, Brent Moloney and Michael Newton on its interchange.

But the Demons have left out ruckman Paul Johnson and dasher Rohan Bail.

Morton, Moloney, Newton, along with Jordie McKenzie make up the interchange.

As named on Thursday night, defender Matthew Warnock has been included in the starting 18, while Aaron Davey (fractured fibula) and Joel Macdonald (ankle) were forced omissions.

Moloney will play his first match since round 16, after battling a corked thigh and quadriceps injury.

Morton returns after being out of the team for the past two matches.

Newton has played just two matches this season - rounds two and three - and was set for a recall mid-season, before a quadriceps injury occurred. With Johnson being omitted, Newton is likely to spend some time as a second ruckman.

Warnock will play his first match for the Demons since round 13 against Adelaide.

Skipper James McDonald, who is set to finish up with the club at season’s end, will play his 250^th match against Port Adelaide.

He will become the seventh Demon to achieve this feat, behind David Neitz (306), Robert Flower (272), Adem Yze (271), Jim Stynes (264), Steven Febey (258) and Brian Dixon (252).

Melbourne will be aiming for its first win at AAMI Stadium since round two, 2001.

It will also be looking to defeat Port Adelaide for the first time at the venue since round eight, 2000.
