Fremantle Oval was overflowing with purple today for the third Open Training Session of the season.

One of the club’s biggest ever crowds turned up to see the players train in the guernsey fans voted for in the Have Your Say competition.

Fans were given the choice of five club guernseys, including the home, clash, purple training, white training and red training jumpers, and asked to vote for which one the team should train in for the session.

More than 65 per cent of people voted for the purple training and white training jumpers, with the ultimate winner being the purple training guernsey.

Hundreds of supporters lined up along the boundary line fence, offering words of encouragement to players running warm-up laps.

They then watched as the Freo players were put through a number of drills as the side prepared for the weekend’s match against Richmond at Etihad Stadium.

After the team finished training, fans got the opportunity to meet their favourite stars and get their autographs. As ever, captain Matthew Pavlich was one of the most popular, although he had a bit of competition from Hayden Ballantyne and Stephen Hill.

Young Alex said he was very happy to meet his favourite player, Ballantyne.

“I got his signature,” the excited Freo fan said. “It was nice to meet him.”

A big thank you to all of Freo’s supporters who turned up at Fremantle Oval for the session.

The players were very grateful for your support.
