Unfortunately he won’t be playing in the big game, but exciting Sydney Swans player Lewis Jetta will be lighting up the MCG on Grand Final day.

Jetta will be the Swans representative in the traditional Grand Final sprint, taking on players from 17 other AFL clubs including the Gold Coast and Team GWS.

Jetta has been a crowd favourite for the Swans this year, thrilling fans with his dash and his quest to boot his elusive first goal.

In a recent interview with the Daily Telegraph newspaper, Jetta conceded he had surprised himself at times with his speed as he stepped up to AFL level.

“I knew I was fast but I didn't think I was that fast,” he said.

"When I just left a couple of players standing, I just thought, 'Wow, my speed must be really fast if they can't catch me'.”

Among Jetta’s competition in the sprint will be noted speedsters, Danyle Pearce from the Port Adelaide Football Club and Ben Nason from Richmond.

Heats for the Grand Final sprint will be held prior to the big match, while the final will be held during the half time break.
