Earlier this year Richmond Football Club hosted 12 aboriginal children visiting from the Central Australia region of Tennant Creek and Canteen Creek, as well as the West Arnhem community of Belyuen.

The aboriginal children were participating in an Indigenous Exchange program conducted by Surrey Hills and Balwyn Auskick communities in Melbourne, which Richmond has supported for last four years.

The children and their carers received this trip as a reward for their participation in the AFL Kickstart program, which is the Northern Territory equivalent of Auskick, designed for remote communities to encourage positive, healthy and active lifestyles with consistent school attendance and participation in Auskick.

In addition to meeting the Tigers, the NT children enjoyed a visit to MSAC for a swim, the Melbourne Zoo, Scienceworks, and had a day at school in Melbourne

A highlight for the children was the opportunity to play an Auskick grid game at half time at the Telstra Dome.
