SYDNEY Swans member Angie West is this week’s Member of the Week.
sydneyswans.com.au got the inside story on why Angie loves the Swans, her most memorable moments and her favourite player.
Here's what Angie had to say...
When did you first join the Sydney Swans?
2005.
What do you like most about being a member?
The flexibility and freedom of the membership, to feel part of a family of like-minded supporters, travelling to the home and away games, attending a variety of informal and formal functions and generally being able to recognise the commitment of the players and coaches by supporting them at each game
What is your all-time favourite Swans moment?
Attending the last game at the SCG in the 2007 season, walking onto the SCG to be given the guernsey that Nick Malceski wore in the Melbourne game at Manuka Oval mid-season. This was in recognition of me attending all home games that season. It was personally addressed to me from Nick and has since been framed and sits proudly in the formal lounge room with two other team guernsey frames from 2008 & 2009. The room has been converted into a Swans sanctuary with more Swans memorabilia than what is currently available in the Swans shop!
What has been your favourite moment in 2010?
Watching Lewis Jetta kick all 19 behinds and then kick the big one. What a moment in history!
Who do you think will be 2010 Club Champion?
Nick Malceski or Kieren Jack
Who is your favourite Swans player?
Nick Malceski
Where do you sit at the SCG/ANZ Stadium? Why do you love these seats?
Ladies Stand SCG - view of whole of field, centre square and goals. At ANZ we sit in Section 121 - long shot of field and seeing Swans come out onto the field.
What do you like most about coming to Swans matches?
The atmosphere that the crowd generates which gives the players a lift they sometimes need to get their mojo. Being able to watch the Reserves games being played so that we can monitor the development of the new and exciting talent forming within the Swans empire.
Any final words for the team?
Never lose sight of where you’re heading and what you want to achieve, believe in each other and in those around you, success will never be far away, I believe in you all and am proud of your achievements and can’t wait till 2011. Go Swans
