SYDNEY Swans midfielder says he and his team will embark on a quest for consistency inthe second half of the AFL season.

Sittingseventh on the ladder with a 6-5 record, Buchanan admitted his season hadprobably mirrored that of his team - good at times, a little sloppy at others butalso a little unlucky.

The Swanshave lost two matches this season by the narrowest of margins. On one of thoseoccasions, a Buchanan snap at goal shaved the 'fat' posts at the SCG.

Thehard-working midfielder agreed his season – and his team's – could look a lotbrighter had his right-foot snap against the Bombers in round 10 not taken sucha leg break.

"Itwould have made a little bit of a difference I guess," he said.

ButBuchanan isn't blaming luck for his team's up-and-down ride in 2007.

"Theteam's definitely been a little inconsistent this year," Buchanan said."Inconsistent over the 11 weeks that we've played and also in games we'vebeen a little bit inconsistent over the four quarters we've played, too.

"Sothat's one thing we're going to have to work on for the remainder of the year. Isuppose I'm a little bit like the team, too. I've been a little bitinconsistent this year.

"I'vehad a couple of little injuries, and been a little bit out of sorts, so I'mlooking to be a little bit more consistent in the second half of the year."

Some timeoff this weekend will give the man known as 'Monty' and his teammates a fewdays to rest any niggles ahead of their monster clash with Collingwood atTelstra Stadium on 23 June.

AndBuchanan believes the rest has come at a good time for his club.

"There'sa few blokes that, after 11 rounds, it'll be good to give them a freshen up,"he said.

"Ithink mentally and physically it'll be good for the blokes just to get awaythis weekend and put the feet up.

"We can get away and do whatever; have ahit of golf or whatever and come back ready for an assault on the second halfof the year."
