BRISBANE Lions coach Michael Voss has rejected claims of a power struggle at the club over who should conduct an internal review into the club's disappointing season.

Voss and Lions chief executive Michael Bowers tabled a framework for the internal review process to the club’s board of directors on Monday night.

Voss said he and Bowers would conduct the review, in conjunction with a third person, yet to be named by the board.

“We discussed at great length last night about how that should look,” Voss said.

“The framework of how we want to go about this as a club is pretty important.

“A couple of positions need to be filled so we can fulfil that internal review process... but we have now come to a point where as a club we know where we are going and what we need to get done.”

The Lions have registered just two wins in their past 16 games.

Voss said the Lions members and supporters should have faith that the review process would find out what has gone wrong.

“We have been pretty thorough in what we have tried to present,” Voss said.

“I think they can be pretty confident that at the end of this we are going to see some really good outcomes.”

Voss expressed surprise at the defection of Nathan Bock to Gold Coast before the season was finished, but said there was always uncertainty towards the end of the season about whether players had agreed to terms with rival clubs.

“We have been sitting here and guessing for a long period of time,” Voss said. “You are led to believe that there are certainly expressions of interest out there.

“As a club who fits into that and could possibly lose a player then we are no different.

“We are sitting here hoping to keep our players, be able to settle our club down and be able to have a group that can stay together.”

Voss said speculation that Michael Rischitelli and Jared Brennan would also head to the Gold Coast Suns next season had not been unsettling for the club.

“They have been really professional in the way they have conducted themselves,” Voss said.

“Their hearts are where they need to be.”

Voss is not tempted to rest Jonathan Brown for the remaining two games as he battles a knee injury, maintaining hope that his captain will be fit to play Essendon at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

“We want to see out the season strong so we will be picking a team based on that,” Voss said.

“So if Browny is not right it will be based on the fact that, with the injury he has, he just can’t fulfil his end of the bargain.”
