ST KILDA coach Ross Lyon says he has some decisions to make as to who to bring in to replace suspended big man Justin Koschitzke ahead of Saturday’s clash with the West Coast Eagles at Subiaco.

Lyon said he would take an extended squad to Perth for the must-win clash, but was unsure who would replace the key Saint.

The coach said he had little to do with Koschitzke’s decision to accept a one-match ban, instead leaving it to a specially-appointed advocate and the club’s football operations manager.

Now, Lyon says, the club will “move on” while he must decide who will replace Koschitzke.

“He’s been playing ruck/forward, so do you bring in Jarryd Allen, or Michael Gardiner or Michael Rix?” Lyon said

“Jason Blake, do you use him as a pinch-hitter in the ruck or do you let him play back or forward?

“We’ve got to get through training, there’s a couple [of players] who are sore but not injured, so we’ve got to make sure they get through and then we’ll finalise the squad.”

While the Eagles have struggled in 2008, Lyon pointed to their reasonable record on home turf and said his side wouldn’t be taking them lightly.

“You underestimate them at your peril,” he said.

As for his own high-flying Saints, Lyon says the focus remains the same – trying to get a consistent effort each week.

While some believe a top-four berth and double chance beckons, the coach said the men at Moorabbin hadn’t even spoken about that prospect.

“We haven’t discussed that … we’re looking for consistency week to week,” Lyon said.

“I understand everyone’s sort of crystal-balling and trying to project [where teams are going to finish] but all I know is that at a league club, as soon as you look too far ahead you pretty quickly fall flat on your face.

“On any given day any team can beat any team.”
