Craig Bird - 3
Had been down on confidence in recent weeks and still seemed to be striving for his best form. Had a quiet night in his first final.
Jude Bolton - 4.5
At the other end of the spectrum, Bolton played his 19th final, a Swans record alongside Adam Goodes. But he was also well held, tallying just 11 touches, although he did produce six tackles.
Adam Goodes - 7
Not quite the unbelievable performance of recent weeks, but the co-captain still had 25 possessions and kicked two goals. With the Swans struggling to find any forward targets or avenue to goal early on, it was no surprise that Goodes imposed himself and hauled his side to a quarter-time lead.
Dan Hannebery - 5
Picked up 18 touches in a strong game, but appeared to dislocate a shoulder in the dying seconds of the third quarter and was subbed out for Luke Parker.
Kieren Jack - 5
Strong effort in the midfield, snaring 21 possessions, although he was wasteful in front of goal, missing two early set shots.
Alex Johnson - 6
Outstanding effort in his first final. Johnson showed great composure as the Swans defenders kept the Saints to just eight goals.
Josh Kennedy - 7
Such an important member of the Swans' engine room, Kennedy once again excelled. Had 20 possessions, 10 of them contested, and six clearances.
Tadhg Kennelly - 4.5
The Irishman has had a difficult second half of the season and again had some dodgy moments, giving away a 50-metre penalty and a goal to former Swan Adam Schneider late in the first half. But also managed to repel a number of St Kilda forays and will have earned himself at least one more game before retirement.
Martin Mattner - 6
Sturdy as ever in the backline, Mattner barely made a mistake and helped keep the St Kilda forwards quiet.
Ben McGlynn - 6.5
Bit of a mixed bag for McGlynn, who missed a wide-open Goodes with a handball to botch what would have been the easiest of goals. But he bounced back, laying eight tackles and kicking two goals in the final term.
Jarrad McVeigh - 7
Such a calming influence in the middle of the ground, McVeigh was again a shining light, ending the night with 26 possessions.
Shane Mumford - 6.5
The Swans' best player the last time these sides met, Mumford didn't have quite the same influence on Saturday night, but still produced 33 hitouts and two goals.
Ryan O'Keefe - 8
Just about the Swans' match-winner. Had struggled in front of goal all season, with 13.20 to his credit before Saturday night. But he nailed his first set shot and would end the game with four goals straight in a vintage performance.
Luke Parker - 3
Only came on as a substitute for the final term and the nuggety teenager threw himself into every contest.
Sam Reid - 5.5
Again showed his terrific aerial ability, taking eight marks and kicking a goal. Seems to grow in confidence every week and will have relished his first final.
Ted Richards - 7
Such a key figure in the Swans' backline all season, his importance escalated with the loss of Heath Grundy with glandular fever to face the Saints. He loves lining up on Nick Riewoldt, keeping the Saints champion to one goal and 16 touches.
Lewis Roberts-Thomson - 5
Surprise move when he started on Riewoldt, but it was only brief, and he often ended up being used as a loose man in defence. For a player who hadn't played in the seniors since 21 due to a calf injury, LRT did everything asked of him.
Gary Rohan - 4
As he has done since getting back into the team in round 22, Rohan provided a number of sparks, with some dashing runs on the wing and strong tackling in the first half. But he went missing after the main break.
Rhyce Shaw - 8.5
Simply brilliant. Shaw took his wonderful form from the past three weeks, when he averaged more than 28 possessions, into this game. Didn’t put a foot wrong in defence all night.
Nick Smith - 7.5
For the second time in four weeks, the unheralded Smith was outstanding in his duel with Stephen Milne. Took a big hit to the midriff, but battled on and again took the points.
Matt Spangher - 5
Former West Coast defender Spangher has offered the Swans something different since being used as a forward and was at it again on Saturday night. Put the Saints defenders under plenty of pressure and kicked the all-important first goal of the second half.
Jesse White - 3.5
Didn't have a great input going forward, kicking two behinds, but did offer some valuable support to Mumford in the ruck.
