SUMMARY
The second edition of the QClash gives footy fans in Queensland a rare reason to get excited in the second half of the season.
The teams have combined for just six victories in 2011, but after a thrilling eight-point win by the Suns when the teams first met in May, there is plenty up for grabs when they play on Saturday night.
The Lions could not stand to lose for a second time to their new neighbours, while another win for the Suns would give them off-season bragging rights in a tough market.
Campbell Brown's absence with a fractured pelvis is a huge loss for Gold Coast, but it should be offset by the return of skipper Gary Ablett from a hamstring injury.
The Suns are coming off a brutal trio of matches that saw them play the Grand Finallists from the past two years - Collingwood, St Kilda and Geelong - with Saturday's loss to the Cats by a landslide 150 points.
Things are no better for the Lions, still reeling from another fourth quarter disaster against Adelaide where they blew a 22-point lead to lose by five points.
The victor will also shake themselves free of the battle for the wooden spoon.
QUESTION MARKS
Can the Lions run out the fourth quarter? Along with Melbourne they have won the fewest (five) final quarters of any team in the league. Last Sunday's fade-out against the Crows was not the first time this season a poor fourth term has cost the Lions premiership points.
Can Jared Brennan torment the Lions again? When they met in round seven, Simon Black labeled Brennan a "mercenary" in the build-up to the game for switching from the Lions to the Suns. The 27-year-old responded on the field, with a breathtaking 30-disposal performance winning him the Marcus Ashcroft Medal for best afield.
PREDICTION
Brisbane Lions by 18 points
TOYOTA AFL DREAM TEAM WATCH
Tom Rockliff and Jack Redden just keep producing for the Lions. Rockliff's 138 points against Adelaide was a season-high and the seventh successive match he had topped 100. Redden started slowly but accumulated 111 points - the eighth time in his past nine matches he has topped 100.
Gold Coast defender Nathan Bock has been on a surge for the Suns. In his past 10 matches, Bock has averaged 86 points per match, including 108 against Geelong last week. His price ($314,300) has risen by a shade under $50,000 in that 10-week block. Jared Brennan also shone on a dismal day, scoring 89 points.
