Brad Symes continued to push for an AFL recall with another good performance for Central District on the weekend.

In the Bulldogs win over South Adelaide on Saturday night, Symes played as a loose defender in the first quarter and then moved into the midfield with his work rate a stand out, and he finished with 15 kicks, 15 handballs and four marks.

For the Panthers, Andy Otten returned from his knee injury and played in defence and got through the game, collecting 10 handballs, seven kicks and four marks.

Myke Cook had a solid performance for South, gaining 21 possessions and five marks with his contested ball a standout.

At Norwood Oval on Friday night, Taylor Walker had another dominant performance for Norwood in their 100 point win over Port Magpies.

Walker had 14 marks, seven contested, had 10 shots on goal kicking 5.5, and finished with 23 possessions.

For the Magpies, Ivan Maric played mainly as a forward and kicked two good goals from limited opportunities. His ruckwork was good and he finished with 17 hitouts and 10 possessions.

In the other Friday night game, Brodie Martin had a solid performance for Sturt in their loss to Glenelg.

Martin played well in defence and showed good run and carry, finishing with 18 kicks, 8 handballs, and kicked a goal.

The Eagles had a last minute win over West Adelaide on Saturday with Jared Petrenko playing a big role in the win.

Playing on a wing all day, Petrenko had 14 kicks, five handballs and six tackles, giving the Eagles a lot of run and aggression the whole game.

For the Bloods, Brad Moran featured in the best as a tall defender for a majority of the game and held his position well and created run from the backlines. He finished with 12 possessions, six kicks and three marks.

In the SANFL reserves, Daniel Talia played a half of footy for the Panthers in his return from injury. In his first game since the NAB Cup, Talia looked to move around well in defence and on the ball, collecting five kicks, seven handballs and six marks.

For the Eagles on Saturday, Jake von Bertouch had 11 possessions and seven marks as a tall forward and Sam Martyn collected 15 possessions on the wing and at half back.

Sam Shaw played for Glenelg’s reserves on Friday night, gaining 20 possessions and seven marks. He won a number of clearances playing in the midfield and was strong in the air when moved up forward.
