The Port Adelaide Football Club confirms that Ryan Willits has referred a dispute between himself and the Glenelg Football Club to SANFL Football Operations Manager, Glen Rosser.

The situation has not been resolved and Ryan and the Port Adelaide Football Club are waiting for a ruling under Rule 1.8 of the Interchange Agreement.

Ryan was allocated to Glenelg via the mini-draft in December 2004. Ryan was not selected in Glenelg’s senior team of 25 players to play against South Adelaide on the weekend. Two weeks prior he had played for Port Adelaide in a NAB Challenge game (his seventh consecutive AFL game).

After discussions with Glenelg it became obvious to Ryan that he was neither in their best 25 players, and not necessarily in line for a recall to the senior team. This was reconfirmed following the weekend’s reserves game where he kicked five goals.

The Port Adelaide Football Club will continue to work with the SANFL clubs in the best interest of the SANFL competition and the development of our listed players.
