Alan Didak spoke to CTV on Wednesday morning after the AFL tribunal cleared him of charging.

Didak was cited by the match review panel for charging Fremantle’s Paul Hasleby during the last quarter of Friday’s terrific win at the MCG.

But the club was always confident it could successfully challenge what seemed a minor incident, and then on Tuesday evening the tribunal freed the 2006 Copleand Trophy winner Didak to take on Melbourne next Monday in the Queen’s Birthday game at the MCG.

After Collingwood gave evidence on the incident, the tribunal took less than five minutes to throw the case out.

"At the start it took a while for us to give evidence, in the end the decision was made, it didn’t take long," Didak said at the Lexus Centre.

"They (the tribunal panel) said it basically wasn’t a foreceful act worthy of a report, so I’m free to play this week. The team’s happy and I’m rapt."

After undergoing knee surgery at the end of his stellar 2006 season, where he not only was crowned Collingwood’s champion player but also earned his first All-Australian Guernsey, Didak returned to the team in round five and has since booted 12 goals in five appearances.

"The whole time since I’ve come back, it’s been about doing a bit for the team. So hopefully I can get a lot fitter, and push up the ground, and keep playing ok footy.

"I’d like to get back to my best, which was like last year, so I’m looking forward to that."

While Didak builds each week towards his brilliant best, a young Collingwood team has played some outstanding football to be seven wins after ten rounds in fourth on the ladder, so Monday represents a chance to build further and consolidate a place in the top four, with the mid-season break the following week.

"Especially because we’re in good form and Melbourne are starting to hit their straps as well, so it’s going to be a massive day.

"Hopefully we can win, go away with a break and win more games in the second part of the season."
