Geelong ruckman Mark Blake could be sidelined for 10 weeks after finger surgery.

Blake sustained ligament damage two weeks ago and will have surgery on Thursday to correct the problem. Former skipper Tom Harley had similar surgery in 2007 and missed 10 games.

“Mark will have the surgery and we will take it from there,” Cats football boss Neil Balme told geelongcats.com.au.

“We will assess it after the surgery but at this stage we do not want to put a definitive timeframe on it.”

Blake is stranded on 99 games and has spent the entire season in the VFL. His last game was the qualifying final loss to St Kilda last September.
